Things like that, that are passed down from one generation to the next, have a lot more meaning than a ring you go out and buy. Sure, you'll need to have it sized eventually, but I bet you that she loves it more than she'd like any ring you'd go out and buy. As for the wedding - you don't have to have anything fancy. You can't afford it right now. (The only reason we can is because Ben's parents are paying for a big chunk of it.) But that doesn't mean that Kay can't have the wedding of her dreams (assuming she even wants something fancy - some girls don't.) Why not wait until your 5th or 10th anniversary, once you two have settled down, then go all-out for a vow renewal or something. Even propose to her again, if you want. It's something nice and romantic you can do for her (you can even surprise her, if she likes surprises
