Ok, so here's the scoop. I just had a pretty decent conversation with my love, Jackie Cady, about drinking and such. And here's what i've decided ( Read more... )

in some ways, i think the staple thing is irrelevant. we've all known pain before, and anyone with a shred of common sense will see the sharp objects and put it together. sharp objects piercing flesh hurts. but before you drink alcohol, youve never felt buzzed or drunk or whatever. you cant match it up with anything else. pain is general, whether its a lot of pain or a little. but being drunk is in a category for itself. youll never know what its like until you try it. whereas, youll know what pain is whether you staple your hands together or not.

haha, but if you did staple your hands together and say that to me, id probably ask if you were drunk.

i totally agree with you aimee. I also love the excuse " I'm in college, it's what you do!" (I have several friends at URI, you can just imagine how often I hear that). It's so stupid, I mean you have have a perfectly good time AND remember it the next day without the hangover if u just leave alcohol out. I've told even my boyfriend, who is my best friend, I find out he's drinking, and he's gone on the spot, no and ifs of buts... but yea thought I'd leave one with support... have a good weekend!!

I totally agree with you!I use the "live and let live" philosophy when it comes to drinking. I'm 26 and barely drink (except for sangria on a terrasse in the summer...Mmm). Main reason: I don't like the taste! Pretty good one, right? Also, I drive EVERYWHERE, so being sober to do so is a good choice. I'm at the age when dinner parties are common occurences, and, believe it or not, I get *pressured* to drink. What the hell? Like I'm missing out if I don't consume! Just give me a glass of water and get over it. More for them, is what I say!
