Back in the early days you could get gramophones that would play 33s, 45s and 78s (although thr stylus had to be changed to play the 78s because of the shellac). After the mid 60's though because nobody was listening to or buying 78s that option was removed from just about all record players so that the only speeds were 33 and 45. This shouldn't hinder you at all though when you play your Floyd / Zeppelin stuff.
I'd recommend getting a decent player because a heavy, worn stylus can damage your vinyl. You can pick modern record players up but some can tend to be quite expensive. My advice is to shop around and try and pick up a decent second hand one. I managed to get a decent Goodmans System 2750 hifi with record deck from a charity shop / thrift store for just £20 / $30 and it plays my records beautifully.
