When he heard another scream echo through the hallways, Pyrrhus had to resist the urge to flinch. It's only been a day since the seal was put in place and the redhead knew that it'll only take a few more hours until it finally settled. He folded his hands together on his knees, closing his eyes as he attempted to ignore the screams. However, the redhead opened his eyes a few seconds later when he heard someone walking towards him.
"What do you want, Adam?" the Watcher asked, glancing up at the Traitor.
Adam smiled. He replied, "You've done a good job of sealing his memory of that day again. Though, I'm surprised it's taking this long."
Pyrrhus snorted, closing his eyes again. He could still feel Daniel trying to fight against the seal, but the redhead knew that it was futile. Between the two of them, the redhead was always better with magic than the other. There was a moment of silence between the redhead and the Traitor as they continued to listen to the screams.
"Is Lily with him?" Pyrrhus asked.
Adam answered, "Of course. You know she wanted to see this happen with her very own eyes."
The redhead scoffed. "It's dangerous to let that girl witness magic like this."
"She's stronger than you," Adam said simply. Pyrrhus opened his eyes to glare at him before feeling a ping in the back of his mind.
He lifted his head, noticing that the screams had finally gone silent. On impulse, Pyrrhus got off of his seat and ran to where Daniel's room was. When he entered the room, the redhead saw Lily looking over at him, her hand brushing aside a few of the older man's bangs. She gave him a cruel smile before leaving, but not without saying a few words to him. Pyrrhus stared after her as she left, but then walked over to Daniel. He sighed, looking down at the man who was important to him.
The seal was in place, he knew, and yet Pyrrhus still felt unsure whether or not this was the right choice. Then again, he knew that if he didn't do this, Daniel would be left in a much worse condition than whatever he will face in the future.
"I'm sorry, Daniel," the redhead whispered. He turned to leave, but was surprised to see a hand catch his wrist. Startled, Pyrrhus looked back to see Daniel looking at him. There was an emotion in those eyes that the redhead was all too familiar with.
"Pyrrhus..."
The rehead shot him a small smile. "Go back to sleep, Daniel. You need it."
The hand around his wrist tightened. "Stay."
"Of course," Pyrrhus lied. He watched as the older man went back to sleep and he felt Daniel's hand become lax.
The redhead watched him for a second longer before sighing and walking out of the room. He stopped when he caught sight of Adam and Lily waiting for him outside.
"Well?"
"The seal's in place. Let me leave."
Adam chuckled and opened a door beside the redhead. He said, "Pleasure to doing business with you, Pyrrhus."
"Next time we meet, it'll be on the battlefield," the redhead growled out before leaving through the door. He instinctively wrapped his hand around the ring he wore around his neck, frowning.
And the next time we meet, we'll be enemies as well, the redhead thought, feeling his right eye ache due to the sealed memories placed within it.
