Daylesford long weekend

Jan 28, 2008 19:34

Not being a big believer of buying "stuff" for X-mas, L&I decided to make the Australia Day holiday into a country getaway. We bought a small gift to put under the tree for X-mas, but the real gift was a 'special weekend away' over the AUstralia Day weekend ( Read more... )

could be a project worth doing, running parallel to or in competition with the big ride or something like that. Those big ride style tours get a fair amount of paying patronage and make the organisers a fair wad of cashola; and it could be easily differentiated from the other similar products due to the train tie in. With a suitable number of patrons v/line could possibly be roped in as a sponsor and approached about easing the bike restrictions. Oops, engaged event organiser mode and I'm getting a little ambitious and ahead of myself.

I'm looking for a strategy to go off on my cycle adventures without leaving L behind. This isn't a grand strategy to run an event in parallel to the Great Vic Bike Ride. (as amusing as that idea might seem on paper)

You could ride to Walhalla for Goth Camp. L could get a lift with some-one else.

That is if we run gothcamp this year. Interest seems to be waning a little.

Hmmm

I thought about the Walhalla as a possibility, either as part of the gothcamp or as a seperate weekender following your recommendations.
If we do it as a part of Gothcamp I'd want to make sure the people who had been doing it for years didn't feel like I'd hijacked their event.
Was the town or surrounding countryside affected last year's fires?

I occasionally post here. I also have one of those Facebook thingies but never use it. Sending an email to bikenerd at gmail is the best way to contact me.

I'm studying (finishing in 6 months) and that takes up most of my non-work time.

I fallen away from the acg set not through any active desire to leave them, more a passive drift once I left the IT industry and stopped going to goth clubs. The last time I caught up with the c2000 era goth crowd was last year at TxxxPxx's Christmas do.
