Ok, so, I've been thinking about this since I read it, and because my previous comment was woefully insufficient (yet was the best I could muster), I had to add another, slightly less insufficient remark. The part of this that really resonated with the contrast between what you do feel and what you think you should feel. So much bullshit goes on because people can't just own their feelings; they have to assume outside feelings they think they should be having, as Normal or Good People, and it just...causes so much more angst, and there's a level of falsity to it. So, I wanted to thank you for being so honest about your feelings. Not just on this subject, but on most things you do this. So, I wanted to say that. Thank you.

Epic afterthought comment is epic and afterthoughty.
Can I just tell you how much I love this? I have kids, I love them but I'm the 21 year old, only married for a year and a half because I married the first man who paid attention to me, who got pregnant and never wanted the child.
I had mine. I love her and I wouldn't change it for the world. But sometimes I can't help but wonder what my life would have been like. That's what happens when you have kids that you didn't plan on having. It makes me feel like a horrible mother. It makes me feel like I don't deserve her. I know it isn't true- but it's feelings that mothers shouldn't have to have.
I'm glad that your miscarriage saved you $200 and I'm glad you wrote about it. I hope it saves the life of another 20 year old.
