Ok I admit I am a registered Republican. However, I am finding that my politcal views, less and less in step with the "God wills it" crazies, deviants, hypocrits, and racists is am seeing daily on TV, the internet and elsewhere. Yesterday I recieved an email from Rep Darryl Issa (R) CA 49th (North San Diego County) decrying the vote on Health ( Read more... )

I'm a lefty Democrat in CA and I say thank you for proving that there are still conservatives with a brain that are not all running around shouting about the end of the world. You are absolutely right that partisanship is getting us nowhere. We need to stop attacking each other and get on with the work of pulling the US out of this recession.

You may be surprised to know that I voted for Arnold, both times. His opponent was a Democrat, but he was also an idiot and an *sshole. Frankly, I don't see *any* governor being able to accomplish much with the CA legislature so tied up in partisan knots. Arnold has probably been able to accomplish more than most could, because he is fairly moderate and has enough charisma to convince people to go along with the program. I do worry that whoever is next will be so extreme to one end of the spectrum or the other that we will never get a budget passed.

I'm registered Dem b/c my local Rep only sends his town hall notices to registered party members (speaking of partisanship: I'm looking at you Pete Stark), but we are Libertarians at our house. It seems to be where the fiscal conservatives from the Rep party are coming when they can't stand the "God wills it" crazies.

I loves me some fiscal conservatives.

I heartily encourage you to send that exact rant (after just a minor grammar check) to EVERY Congressperson and Senator, state and national. This is PRECISELY what they all need to hear, on both "sides" - the Repubs need the clue-bat in the worst kind of way, and the Dems need to understand that if (when) they fall into that same ditch they will get peed on too. Enough already, all the way around!
