So Win2K decided that losing the Software key of my registry, it's archive, and it's log was a good idea. Thus making my install non-bootable. With no way to properly recover it, I cut my losses and had my brother come over, snag data off the boot partition using his PC, and have now gone up to WinXP x64 Edition. Basic update post...
So I gave my two week notice at Kinkos the other day. Hours have never returned to what I should've been getting since the month of December when I started. Tried and tried and tried to work things out with the manager, etc., but it didn't help. My brother talked to his boss about me, and it pretty much was a done deal within 3 days. So Tuesday was a day at the beach with a few friends and other assorted folks. A few people I would've liked to have seen appear didn't, but I still had lots of fun. So I'm finally up and running. I've actually been limping along for a few days now, but my box is pretty much full function now. All kinds of problems along the way. Somehow ruined my fairly new NEC 3520 DVD burner, but I got my new 3550 in today. Can't really say what happened beyond that the old burner suddenly randomly would or would not detect ( Read more... ) -
And the troubles begin...
... So apparently Gigabyte and ASRock decided to use non standard, backplateless HS mounts on their motherboards. This renders my SI-120 useless for the moment, as they pack in their own stronger HS mount to be put onto the motherboard instead. But since I don't have the backplate to be screwed into, I'm...uh..."screwed". Fry's is open today, which ( Read more... )
