The Comphrensive Guide to the DC Relaunch

Jun 08, 2011 23:31

So I've been following the reboot/relaunch whatever thing of DC's, but it became hard for me to keep track of all the titles they were coming up with.  For my ease and for everyone else, here is the complete list of the announced DC titles with their covers, writers, artists, and blurbs.  The GL Corps, Red Lanterns, and The New Guardians never ( Read more... )

It was getting too confusing about what had been released (and what hadn't).

I hate DC for this, but some of these titles are actually peaking my interest... I still don't understand why they have to relaunch everything to do it, though.

Pretty much. DC got what it wanted though--publicity. Sad it won't last, and they really should know that.

And I'll miss Oracle D: She's such a badass character. Though Simone is writing it, and I can't imagine she'd mess her up too bad (considering how well she's handled Oracle). I don't know if I'll buy the book, because I definitely think Babs should have stayed oracle.

You're welcome!

The Supes are totally some of the missing 13 titles. It will probably be the next batch (or possibly the last as some sort of big bang).

I do too, but reading through these solicits, I don't understand why they have to reboot everything to get to these arrangements. Most seem to work within current continuity.

The Super family has to be up next. Also, Bleeding Cool claims to have the covers of Superman, Superboy, and Supergirl: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2011/06/09/dc-relaunch-a-brand-new-look-for-superman-supergirl-and-superboy/

They look legit, but I'm not adding them until I get a solicit/they turn out to be official.

Teen Titans
I, Voodoo
Red Hood
Birds of Prey
Justice League Dark

I want more Steph and Cass though. :(

You combined two titles there, Zeffers. It's I, Vampire and Voodoo. Not I, Voodoo :P

I'm interested in:
Voodoo
Resurrection Man
Demon Knights
Red Hood
Batman and Robin (I'm a sucker for Damian)
Static Shock

and I'll check out Teen Titans, Nightwing, Batwing, Mister Terrific and the main Batman title (the writer is a regular at my comic shop) but I don't know if I'll stick with them. The costumes of the Teen Titans turn me away from that title. I only like Tim's.

I'm hoping they're one/two of the remaining 13 unreleased titles, else I think people are going to be pissed. But at the same time I'm nervous because they weren't included in either the "bats" or "young people" groups.

Thanks for putting together this list! Its great seeing everything with the art and solicit. 12 more titles to go! I've got a definite wish-list of what I want to see in that twelve. *fingers crossed*

No problem! It was getting hard to keep track of everything. I plan on updating the list with each new announcement.

As do I. There are still some popular characters (at least have a small but rabid fanbase) that haven't been released yet, and I'm surprised. Especially Jaime/Blue Beetle, since they're pushing the whole diversity thing and there is not one Hispanic character with their own solo ongoing yet.

13 actually (hopefully that 13 is a Cass/Steph title).

I'm looking for a a couple villian based series in all honesty. I know the majority of the announced titles will be Superman titles but I'm really hoping I get something.

I love villain based books in both Marvel and DC. They're usually more interesting than some of the heroes. I'd kill for a new Secret Six.

But don't forget, DC doesn't seem to like Villain based titles. Ever. They never seem to give them a shot. I mean there are exceptions, but for the most part they never last (only to be brought up again later like Suicide Squad).

But... where are the Supers? I can't be the only Super fan left, right? ;___;

Thanks for the list, it helps!

Oh the Supes are coming. They've been announcing these titles in themes (Justice League, Green Lanterns, Bats, "Dark," Teens). My guess is that it will either be the next announcement or the last (as some sort of big bang announcement to wrap everything up). I would find it highly unlikely that they would snub one of the most iconic DC and even Comic Book characters in favor of characters like Captain Atom.

You're welcome! I'll keep it updated with the new releases.

Yeah don't worry, the Super books will be coming soon I'm sure. I noticed that the announcements were theme based when they did all the Lantern titles in one day.

If you want a sneak peek of some of the new super comics, Bleeding Cool claims to have the covers of Superman, Superboy, and Supergirl: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2011/06/09/dc-relaunch-a-brand-new-look-for-superman-supergirl-and-superboy/
