oh my gosh, i wish i had been in Ngorongoro with you this weekend instead of here in freezing cold Wisconsin, writing papers! Ngorongoro is awesome! Isn't Kili beautiful?? I am sad that while I did get to see some of the War Crimes Tribunal taking place in Arusha, I did not get to go to Rwanda or Uganda while I was in East Africa.

much love, and safari nzuri!

A tuk tuk is a small form of transport that goes about as fast as a golf cart and looks as if it flew straight off of a tilt-o-whirl.
Now, you know, I'm going to wish for a tuk tuk when Ol' Hot Wheels finally kicks it...

People are very friendly and it feels incredibly safe.
Although Silver's host father, Claude, finally yelled at him to keep him from walking around at night.

I later found out that every household must supply one person to clean every Saturday and this accounts for the cleanliness.
I think there's a word for this -- that conveys something along the lines of "public duty which is nice to do but also kind of compulsory".
