does anyone have any tips for evading jury duty? apparently being ideologically opposed to to putting people in jail wont cut it. neither sadly is, im a Pisces, i cant make decisions. M only plausible explanation is 'im a primary care provider at an HIV clinic. Due to PHIA (the health info privacy act) i cant divulge anyones health status, but i am ( Read more... )

really? i was under the impression that something along the lines of the above would be adequate.

if worse comes to worse you could try cultivating a phony bias, (ie. "i'm a man-hating absolutist" or something). eesh.

You could just act really bias one way or the other, right? Like right away go "but.. he's innocent.. really, I can TELL" and just don't shut up about it. They want impartial people :D

I've always gotten out of it by having a kiddo, that won't work in your case?
You may have to just show up and level with them. My bro told me they can tell when someone's trying to get out of jury duty and when they are truly not gonna be able to work within the system. So go with what's natural. Someone on the jury who is fundamentally opposed to how the justice system operates seems like it would be a liability on both sides, actually.
