Guide 1: How To Tell If Your Red Doll Is In Love
Due to the multiple 'incidents' that have arisen lately regarding Giroro, I felt the urge to write this.
I pray that, if nothing else, this little segment will provide its readers with many many lulz.
The Fine Line Between Love And War
Those of you who are not familiar with Keroro canon, anime or manga, may not know much about Giroro or his nature (this statement is actually bullshit, since he's a pretty easy guy to read...most of the time). Well, for those of you who don't get it, Giroro has been described as 'hardboiled' in canon, mostly because...well, he really is just like a hardboiled egg. Seemingly stiff and stern on the outside, with a soft, tasty center.
For the 1% of you that are still confused, this means he acts tough and uncaring on the outside (or at least tries to), but he's a very sensitive man on the inside...accuse him of that and he'll shank you.
Canonly, Giroro is in love with Natsumi Hinata, the fourteen year old girl living in the house whose backyard he's taken residence in. She won his heart by getting through his traps with only a leek in hand, and thoroughly kicking his ass. WOW WHAT A TURN ON.
Anyway, more to the point, as any of you who have interacted with Giroro have noticed, he's very srs business when it comes to his job. Which is, lol, invading earth. Who comes from earth? Natsumi. Who loves Natsumi? Giroro. As you can see, this is totally a problem for him. Thus, he is a man torn between love and war...so far it seems like love is winning, but he's also a stubborn old bastard.
And for the record, I do in fact consider him a canon predatorz, as there's no way he's not an adult by his species' standards (albeit apparently a young one, but no age = impossible to prove outside of hints), and Natsumi is jailbait. c:
Now that canon is, for the most part out of the way, time to move on to more information relevant to the islands interest...yes, it's derived from canon. STFU. :[
The Red Doll In Love
Is the red dharma in love with you? There's surprisingly no obvious way of knowing. If Giroro's in love with someone, he obviously doesn't flat out say it to them. When it comes to affairs of the heart, he's an utter chicken shit. The words just never seem to come out. He's more likely to love you from afar, purely because he can't bring himself to say 'I love you.'. OH SO TRAGIC RITE? So whether he loves you or not, you'll probably never get the straight answer out of him, unless the island magically grants him the gift of a 'backbone'.
So how can you tell if little red bean here is in love? Fear not! That will be covered in the next segment.
How To Tell If Your Red Doll Is In Love
(For the record, everything on this list applies to Natsumi. Everything.)
So, you're probably wondering, 'if the guy can't tell me how he feels, how will I ever know'? Don't worry, oh curious creature! If Giroro likes you, he's not as quiet about it as he likes to think. He has many, many indications and hint droppings that tell you that he is in fact in love!
Some of these indications are, in fact, intentional. That means he wants you to know, but he just doesn't know how to go about it. Others are more subtle. This means he does in fact like you, but he's trying his best to deny it. I shall do my best to divide them into categories.
Keep in mind, however, that some of these may just indicate that he's warmed up to you. It might not actually be love (i.e. If you call him out on something, or sometimes even if you praise him, this may embarrass him so naturally the little shit is gonna blush about it.).
The subtle
- Blushing is of course the most common place of his subtle tell tale signs. But this isn't surprising, as a lot of people blush all the time. And if you're rolling your eyes at this statement, then good job! You're smarter than you look. However, if the red dharma blushes at times when he seemingly shouldn't, that's probably a good indication that he likes you. However he's good not to let this slip too often.
- Bleeding. I'm not just talking about the nosebleed you get from high elevation or walking in on a hot person naked. No no, if you follow manga canon, Giroro spontaneously bleeds all over at the thought or act of intimacy with the person he likes (in canon's case, Natsumi-chan~). It doesn't even have to be out of an orifice either (read: the nose). No no, he may just bleed in general. Blood will just burst out of everywhere, but mainly above the neck area. This is probably the most obvious sign. The more blood, the more he likes you. c:
- For those of you unfamiliar with manga canon, his face turning red and the occasional steam from the head works just as well as bleeding.
- Anonymous assistance. This is more commonly seen with Natsumi, where in he will try to help the person he likes...without them knowing about it. This will probably be the most impossible for your character to gather, since...he's actually really good at doing that. D:
The obvious
- Acts of kindness. As time goes on on the island this may simply become more of a natural thing for him, and in a sense it already is. But these gestures of kindness are a bit different than...well, normal. If Giroro likes you enough he'll make any effort to assist you when you need it, be it a little thing or something very important.
- Gifts. Not normal gifts. Giroro's rather inept on what women (or men, but let's not think about that right now) like, so he'll go based off of what he knows he would like. It's silly, but it's the way he is. Gifts are most likely to include making you something out of things he finds lying around (especially things that remind him of combat or weapons, since he once made a necklace out of a pine cone...what? It reminded the guy of a grenade. :[). This is something that doesn't happen a lot, so when it does you know it's special! *cheesy thumbs up would go here*
- Sweet potatoes. I only mention this because Natsumi loves them (and I have a feeling he likes them a lot too), so he's known to share his with her a lot. On the island he's going to be prone to sharing them anyway, but it's still worth noting. A sign is a sign, even if it's not the most obvious (which is silly because I shoved it into the obvious pile. Go me!).
- If you're very, very lucky, he'll let some words slip that give you an indication about how he feels. I can only assume these are intentional, but at the same time it's uncertain if he actually wants the listener to hear them or not, as he'll usually try to shove it off as 'nothing' if the person tries to draw attention to it.
I can't put 'being human' into either list, as I'm still not sure about how he stands on this issue myself. It's hard to say, so I'm leaving it out of either one. Hell, he may think nothing of it at all as it stands. Who knows?
