There are so many plants I WANT!! *grin*

I was listening to the frogs for weeks before this current cold spell hit us. I like to hear them at night. I don't normally like background noise, but the night sounds of frogs and crickets I love. When I lived in Alaska, I missed it.

Same here - I've still got garden vouchers from last year which I never go round to spending. Most of the garden and plant centres are quite a long drive away and I never make the time to go.

The frog activity abruptly ceased today - the weather has changed and it is colder with a dry wind - they don't like that :) They've left the biggest lot of frogspawn this year that we've ever had.

I heard them again tonight for the first time in a couple of weeks. It is supposed to turn warm again.. the rain at the head of the front coming through bringing that warm air never materialized today, but the frogs were singing as I was sitting in the rose garden after dark... so hopefully.

I have roses and irises just WAITING for a little warmth to bloom.

Yes, I thought you'd like the newt - it's just a snake with legs *grin*.

Not much left in the shop now; I sold 16 in the end, so there's just a few buy it now ones. Have you had much success selling on there with your shop stuff?

Hey, how are you? I've just come across your journal. I'm a Guernsey girl as well but I've been in Birmingham for more years then I care to remember. It's always nice to find another Guernsey person on here or on myspace.

I love your photos and you cat icons. I will have to make some of my lovely cats :-)

Hi - thanks for posting - I don't think I'd like to return to the Island to live, but go over to see my parents a couple of times a year (due to go at the end of April again, but the flights and ferries are soooo expensive).

I only just made the cat icons, difficult to find clear enough pics that you can still see when they're so small :)

I think it's fabulous that you're taking an herbalism course. I took one (in person) many years ago and it was fascinating. Herbalism is a long-term interest of mine. :) I'm on the premier email mailing list for berbalism if you're interested. Most of the well-known, highly regarded professional herbalists are on it...and it's run by a woman named Henriette Kress who lives in Finland.

I like that you have frogs and newts around. I'm hoping once we move into this house, we'll have more "wildlife" around like that (something I miss from my childhood). Living in the city all these years, the closest I've come is tree squirrels.

What is your ebay ID? I'll check out your store. :)

Hi - how are you getting on? It everything going OK with the house?

I am quite proud to have submitted the first assignment for the herbalism course. It's been around 3 years since I studied anything properly and it took a while to get back into writing again. Just waiting for the results and comments now :) It seems like a natural progression for me, especially as I like herbs and flowers in the garden. Yes, thanks, I'd be very interested in learning more about the mailing list.

It's gone quiet on the frog front for the time being - I'm just going out checking the frogspawn occasionally and the newts don't seem to be eating too much of it so far. I'm sure you'll get lots of wildlife coming to your garden - it seems to be quite mature (from the pics) and well planted.

My ebay ID is sierra_stone - not much left at the moment, because I sold so much at the weekend! Yay! I'm planning on visiting a car boot sale this weekend to see if I can get some more cheap books to sell :)
