I have revised my opinion of Arturo Perez-Reverte.
I can still firmly recommend Queen of the South. Having read The Flanders Panel twice to make sure I got it* and now being halfway through my slogging through The Club Dumas I find it a bit more brain-candy than I like. I seem to have abandoned the fiction in favor of the non- before I even got anywhere near the Eco anyway.
