It makes me wonder, is this simply a loss of innocence? Has the country always been operated like this? Or are we actually devolving back to the 17th century?
I'm waiting until there is mandated prayer in public classrooms to leave. Even if it is mandated for my own religion, I don't care. That's not what this country was founded on and it's not what I want in a government.
I am so ashamed.

Our entire system has turned into a huge sham. I don't have any faith right now that we have a legitimate democracy.
It seems like we (liberals, democrats) have always believed that if you give people the truth and you present a logical message, then they'll get it and they'll come to see where you're coming from.
Evidently not.
I don't want to run away from this country though, because it desperately needs our help. I've learned my lesson - that voting, speaking the truth, and donating money just isn't enough for me to do. Let this just be another reason to fight harder.
