Asimov (or was it Clarke?) tells us:

"Any sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic."

I posit that there is a parallel to this statement:

"Any sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from science."

I should consider this further, but....thoughts?

David's mentioned both the original and the parallel/inverse before. :) I think the pair is fascinating and awesome.
