First real-life lesson for the new year

Jan 03, 2011 15:55

"Practical" chemistry is still not my forte. Nor, for that matter, is it my partner's.

Also: Thank you for the well-wishes for the new year, everyone! Great party - more when I'm not dizzyingly ill.

Just what is 'practical' chemistry?
Hope you feel better soon!

He used a sharpie on a wet-erase board, and it took the successive, repeated application of goo-b-gone (Dip from Roger Rabbit, more or less), chlorox wipes, and water to get it all off. The fumes were pretty stupendous. And I should know better than to mix chlorox and organic solvents.

Thank you!

Room was mostly okay by the time I went back for the night class, but the fumes were still pretty spectacular.
