There does seem to be a preponderance of cars hitting things lately, doesn't there? Hopefully everyone involved in this one will be OK...
My apologies for not doing Chinese on Christmas, but I had my brother down for the holidays, and he wasn't really up for socializing with people he doesn't really know. We had a lovely quiet weekend, though, until he wrecked his car on the way back to NH... (He's fine, amazingly enough, but the car is probably totalled.)
*hugs* to you, and skritches to the resident felines...
Good on you. Keep this entry flagged to look back at when you think stuff's out of control, to remind yourself that you functioned admirably when it was really vital. *hug*
Thanks for all the kind words, but it's not such a big deal, really. I'm lucky enough to have avoided serious motor vehicle accidents (so far, touch wood) -- just fender-benders and a six-hundred-dollar meeting with a curb.
I just live here. It's a noisy intersection (how do I complain to the city that I can hear car stereos IN THE DEAD OF WINTER, with my second-floor windows shut and presumably the cars' windows shut as well??? Never mind the noise in warm weather. Sheesh. I'm gonna hanga banner out of my window come Summer, see if I don't.). Anyway, digressions aside (as it were), this is the second accident that I've overheard since I moved here in September. It really seems like a no-brainer to call 911. I don't know that I'll always go downstairs and talk to those involved -- I don't have any first-aid training, among other things -- but phone calls are easy.
This is a sidebar to the accident issue---I'm presuming you cancelled your cell phone service and/or your phone had a lock so it couldn't be used if it was found by somebody with relatives in Uganda?
The like happened to another friend, so just a thought!
Well, cell phone is a three-year-old model with (by now) A Very Dead Battery. Recharging gizmo is likely to be tricky to find on the spur of the moment. So, er, no, haven't cancelled the service, but feel there's a reasonable rationale for not doing so. Maybe I'm in denial. Won't be the first time.
Besides, I have a nasty suspicion that it's really somewhere in my car. Another New Year's Resolution: clean car and either find cell phone or give up and deal with it. By Jan 8. Or else.

Yikes re: his accident, tho'. I'm glad he's okay -- cars are replacable. People aren't. Well, mostly ;-}.
*hugs* back at you, and scritches to your felines, too. (sigh -- just heard Madame Grey Fluffy One hork up a hairball. Darling kitty.)
