*slinks in from somewhere* Update-y kind of post!
First of all: to gossymer and hogwartshoney, I swear I have NOT forgotten the commissions due to your wonderful selves!!! Consider this my invitation to continue poking and prodding me when I've been too silent for your liking!!! I swear that these commissions WILL GET DONE!!!
Second: Other fandoms and/or comic-y projects have taken up my personal time since mid-Spring.
- During the SPRINGTIME OF MY YOUTH spring, I was caught up in the wonder and the joy that is Sherlock Holmes (especially the Granada series because Jeremy Brett was a fine, fine man!!!). I swear, I will do fanart for this beautiful fandom! (You know, when I'm done being intimidated by the sheer massive talent over there!!!)
- During late spring into early summer, my life got eaten up by the comic-y project that I had to do coloring for. *twitches at the memory* I was honored to do it and it got me a pass into Comic Con but phew! Totally earned my badge this year!!!
- Attended AX, as Karaoke staff, and Comic Con, as an attendee who geeked out and also purchased a Narwhal of Death (IT'S SO FLLLUUUFFFYYY!!!!) Missed good friends who usually attended (but couldn't, this year). I'll try to post some of the swag I got but I tried to be good about useless freebies and odd ARC collecting.
And now is the part where I talk about Inception...
Just before Comic Con, I went to go see the movie and was just blown away! After Comic Con...I may have seen the movie *cough*three*cough* times and gotten to reading inception_kink at all hours of the day, thus being late for work and prone to little/no sleep a lot.
Erm...long rambling short, I'm totally smitten with Arthur/Eames, to the point of wanting to do fanart (Heaven help us all). I find drawing real people to be somewhat hard (particularly because I'm so rusty) but I decided to give things a go anyways.For practice, I tried to do studies of the guys' faces.

Of the two, Arthur still gives me problems (JGL's face, why do you not love me?!). I find that rendering Tom Hardy is not as problematic (loves his lips).
Of the fanwork being produced in this fandom, just one word: disappointed PROLIFIC! My goodness, I look at my man away and then back to find several more posts have been made over at the eames_arthur community!!! It's rather amazing and inspiring and intimidating as hell! I promise to do a fanwork rec sometime soon (preferably not right before work) of the works that just totally captured the Arthur/Eames dynamic for me but until then...

So, in summary: got busy with projects and new fandoms and am now entrenched in Inception! I'll probably post some artwork from it tonight (if I can stop re-reading maldoror_gw's epic Diplomatic Relations again). /random-ness
