I don't know much about the new World of Darkness other than Changeling, and the Changeling setting they have now isn't very much like the Dresden Faerie world (Changelings are living in a pretty gritty society after escaping from Arcadia). Werewolves are also different since in the WoD it's about tribes rather than types like in Dresden.

By the way, this is not to say that you can't use WoD to run a game. I just don't know how well the new editions will fit what you're looking for.

If you're using the 2nd/3rd edition rules from a few years ago (before the "end" of that world) Dresden would totally be a Hermetic Mage. House of Hermes all the way. Totally. I of course would be an effen' Orphan!
