It turns out my opinion is moot - once C+J found out they could gets the Maplelea bedding with the off-brand beds, they were sold. They realy don't care about the brandname on the furniture. In fact they are excited about being able to get 2 beds , 4 sets of bedding and an amoire for less than the 2 brand name beds :)

Do either Julian or your Dad have any woodworking skill/experience? BIL helped his granddaughter build some doll furniture and it was a terrific bonding experience as well as skills building.

Seven months from now they may not even be interested in dolls but if they helped build it they would have it much sooner.

Great idea!
Actually FIL does, but I'm not sure he would make them. My Dad could do the painting or staining and boost morale, but that's it.
Oh, I just remembered Dh's cousin has does a fair bit of woodworking , maybe he is a can give us an idea about what it would take for DH to do it W/C+J

Yes, B&N ships to Canada, generally. For some reason, they can't or won't ship these doll furniture pieces. I figured that out when I tried to get a shipping estimate for our address.
