Leaves was once again out "on patrol." Late night roaming was beginning to become a habit of his. Of course, lately he hadn't gone too far from the base, but he was feeling fairly brave lately, and had managed to wander near the blue base. He was out of armor, but he did have a pistol in his back pocket, just in case he met any stinking blues ( Read more... )

Flowers was laying on his back in front of the base, looking up at the stars. It was a hobby of his that not many knew about, but he enjoyed it immensely.
He stretched out in the grass, letting his mind calm. He didn't want to think about the stuff clouding his mind. For now, it was just him and the night sky.

Leaves poked his head over a ridge, and immediately ducked back down. He was right in front of the blue base! He didn't think he walked that far!

He peeked his head over one more time and looked around. There was a lone figure lying out in the grass in front of the base. He looked... unarmed. He could sneak around the back and quietly approach the target. As long as it wasn't Wyoming, he had nothing to fear.

Grinning wickedly, Leaves began his stealthy approach. It was time to show those blue bastards who was king of the canyon.

The captain let out a quiet yawn, unaware of the approaching Red. The night was calm, with only the occasional breeze. He felt so at peace, not having to think about Sierra or Levin. And his leg wasn't even bothering him.

It's so nice out here...

"Rawr!" Leaves shouted as he jumped the blue, emerging from behind a nearby rock. So much for the quiet approach. Oh well, stealth wasn't his specialty anyway.

Before his target had a chance to react, he had pinned him down; holding his hands over his head, and sitting on his stomach.

"He didn't blow my base up, but the rest is classified information," he responded smoothly.

The captain slouched over, now worried. Levin had... cried? Well heck. Didn't he feel like a real bastard. But it was kind of confusing. The sergeant kissed back... Flowers couldn't help but feel bad though. And he still had Sarge's helmet and bag of explosives in his quarters. Well, he'd return the helmet eventually, or Levin could come and pick it up, but he'd keep the TNAZ for safe-keeping.

"Classified information! That's fucking bullshit! He's my sergeant, and I deserve to know!"

Flowers smiled at the zealot, tilting his head slightly. "Well that doesn't mean I'm going to tell you. It's our business, and it will remain private." Maybe the rookie was too outraged to catch that little slip of it being their business. He seemed kind of angry, so maybe he wouldn't. All Flowers could do was hope and see.

Flowers picked up Leaves' pistol and started to examine it, a bored expression on his face.

Leaves growled. It was taking all his self-control just to not snap out and punch the blue. Who did that jackass think he was, anyway? Maybe he was overreacting a bit, but he knew, he could just tell by the man's mug attitude that this guy had down something to Sarge; something that upset him. And it just wouldn't do to leave him unpunished, no sir.

So he tackled him. Without paying any heed to the gun, he pinned him to the ground, leaning over him so that what their noses were almost touching.

"Listen, you," he growled, "I don't know who you are, or who you think you are, but I know you did something to Sarge. I don't know what, but by the Flag, I swear I'll find out! And then, I'll rip your liver out with my bare hands, and personally feed your stinking blue carcass to the buzzards, you got it? So enjoy the next few days; they will be your last."

"No way duchebag! You'll have to pry from my cold, dead, lifeless hands if you want back!"

Glaring at Flowers, he held tighter the Flag.

"And what the fuck do you mean I'm not going back? No way I'm staying here in blue base! It's a fucking indignanty!"

Flowers raised the gun, a questioning look on his face. "That's an option."

He sighed, glancing at Leaves' leg. "Are you going to hobble out then?"

"Goddamnit, if I had my helmet, I'd radio Sarge and have him come get me," Leaves sighed. "Fuck that. I'm probably better off staying here. I'm just dead weight. I can't do anything right. Everytime I try to do something, I get hurt or captured. Or both, as the case is now. I might as well be a goddamn rookie for all the good I've done."

"Do with me what you will," he murmured, poking at the bullet hole in his leg.

He smiled. "Then can we put the flag back and I can help you with your wound?"

Butch cringed at the statement. It made him feel guilty. Leaves' company was tolerable, and he enjoyed having someone to talk to. Even if he was the enemy and probably more than a decade younger than himself.

"Well, you could always respawn back here, couldn't you?"

"I suppose I could, but why would I? There's nothing for me here, really."

Leaves almost hated saying that, the guy seemed really nice, even if he was blue, but that was the thing. He was blue. Sarge wouldn't be happy with him for fraternizing with the enemy, but it's not like he had to know. he was probably asleep by now and wouldn't even know if he was out later than usual.

On the other hand, he really hated the thought of lying to him.

Decisions, decisions.

Finally, he just gave up and added, "If you want me to stay a little longer, I guess it won't hurt any."

He nodded, and moved a stray strand of hair behind his ear.

Flowers smiled slightly, taking the gun out of his pocket. "This doesn't hurt when I do it, right?"

Leaves shrugged. "It does, but only for a moment. 'Sides, I've gotten used to it, I've been shot so many times."
