Basil sat in the middle of the canyon, glaring at the shaded blue base. It wasn't fair that it was so full, while the red base was so... empty. Sarge was gone, Donut was missing, Grif was missing... that damned freelancer was still there, but more often then not, he was out dinking around somewhere in the canyon. Basil crowed in triumph as he watched the blue emerge from the base, and settled down with a determined expression on his face.

'Now come this way,' he though, focusing on drawing the soldier towards him.

Nicholai was on autopilot, mentally drained. He'd been locked in his room since a little talk with his captain, and had been thinking deeply[yes, it's possible for him] about certain things.

Now, however, was just a random mandatory patrol. He didn't the reds were going to try anything anyways. Did they have patrols? He doubted it.

The corporal continued on.

Closer, closer, closer, c'mon, I'm in the middle of the fucking canyon! You'd have to be brain dead to miss me!

Not that he didn't not think that the blues were brain dead, but he figured he should give them the benefit of the doubt. After all, Simmons was a (former)blue and he was okay. Maybe that was him? Didn't matter.

He continued mentally leading the blue his way, or so he liked to believe.
