He's in a hospital room and having trouble sitting still. His dad is pacing around in front of him and he isn't sure why. But he really doesn't want to sit still anymore.
"Mommy's been in there a long time. Is mommy okay?"
His dad turns to him and smiles. "Yes. She's alright."
Right then the doctor comes out and has a big smile on his face. He says that they can see them now. Jumping off his seat, Ran runs as fast as his little legs will carry him to his mommy's room. There she's on a bed and there's a baby in her arms. Curious, he goes over.
"Ran, this is your new little sister. Her name is Aya."
Climbing up onto the bed, he looks down at her with wide eyes. She's such a pretty baby. Reaching out, he pets her head. The action causes her to stir and she looks at him with big eyes. He laughs and keeps looking at her.
"I'm gonna be the best big brother. I'll protect you no matter what. I promise, Aya."
Ran wakes up and sighs. That...was an unexpected dream.
