hey John - marginaleye wanted me to pass this on to you:
Please forgive me for cluttering up your LiveJournal page with this. It's a message for redbadger, re. an interesting quotation I found re. "magic(k)al attacks." I tried to post it directly to him, but his page didn't permit me to do so. I was hoping you would pass it along to him, for whatever it's worth.
Did you ever read "Crowley's Apprentice", Gerald Suster's biography of Regardie? Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the book with me right now, but there's a passage in which Regardie said that there was a period in his life during which he was under sustained magic(k)al attack, and he eventually reached the conclusion that the only way to succumb to that sort of attack is to want to succumb to it. While I'm not sure whether this is as absolutely true as Regardie put it, I'm inclined to believe there's a lot of truth in what he said. Regardless, however, good luck in getting through the rough patch.
marginaleye is a good guy - he lives up here in New England too.
