"I guess that the draft might be coming back."

Are you as angry as I am? Yeah.

I completely agree.
I'll be old enough to vote this time around, and if you're saying we won't need it if Kerry wins.. then uhh.... yeah :)

But if this turns out to be anything like Vietnam.... I'll end up just like my father.

this is craZy! what is this world coming to! well from what i've heard a reason for re-enstateing the draft is that the soilders already out there have been out there for a really long time and havn't had a chance to come home, so this draft might give them a better chance to come home for awhile and another we are lossing some soilders (but you'd think if we're lossing americans over this shit we would get the fuck out and let them settle their own shit) but i suppose we back off just a little they'll come after us and that would be just no good. so we have a few choices and so do they, they surrender.... we call it done and get the fuck out... or we take over full force, lose more soilders, and waste some more money. i think its great that we like to help but theres a certain line that shouldn't be crossed.

Hey, don't worry too much about it. The draft is something that is always trying to be passed, even in peacetime. Every few years the subject comes up but gets shot back down. Currently, there are only about 16 total reps that are signed on in support of this at all. Anyone in congress knows that if they vote for a draft they are voting themselves out of office. The war is unpopular enough know as it is. If they instituted a draft, even the people still in support of the war would pull out, because nobody really wants their kids sent over their against their will.

Anyways, all I am saying is that it's not something to get too worried about. It's good to pay attention to politics and let your voice be heard, though! It's just good to be informed.

Yeah, don't get my wrong. Is there a possibility that it would be brought back...sure. Especially if we get involved in some sort of large scale war. My point though is that we aren't involved in any kind of war we can't simply pull out of, and if the draft was brought back, I have a feeling it would not last very long as people would say "enough is enough."

Yeah, that's definitely shitty. I don't want to be forced into stuff or anything. And I sure as hell don't want to be yanked out of college to partake in something I want no part of. If I wanted to go to war, I'd join a branch of the military.
