"I can make a firm pledge," Obama said in Dover, N.H., on Sept. 12. "Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes."
Unless you smoke, I guess. Another fucking lying politician.

What I don't like is a guy who stands up, says that's he's different, says that he's better, that he's going to bring us change we can believe in. And then, less than 100 days into his office, he's breaking campaign promises. He's no different than any of the other politicians. He's not change - at least not change I believe in. Change is honesty. Change is standing up, during the campaign, and saying "yeah, we're going to raise taxes on some of you." But, that's the hard way. And so he's just like all the rest. Another liar, telling us one thing and doing another. He signed the stimulus bill with all the earmarks. And now he's blatantly raised taxes too. What exactly should I trust?

You're roughly the same age as I am. My earliest political memories revolve around Reagan forgetting that he knew anything about Iran/Contra (actually believable now), and the combination of Chicago and Illinois politics that have now landed how many of our governors in jail? Daley gets away with everything, ripping up Miggs in the middle of the night, and no one cares. What reason do I have to not be cynical?
