"Yeah, it happens. Sounds like you did too." It also sounds like he's gargling a live sparrowkeet every now and then, but for some reason she doesn't feel like mentioning that. The way his voice sounds when it's *not* squeaking makes her feel kind of funny. It's really annoying.
"You still owe me a helmet, you know." He's scratching behind his neck, his face tilted to one side.
"Yeah, well. I might know someone who can do something about that."
She can't stop grinning, and there's heat rising in her face. She punches him in the arm.
