Have you looked into what benefits you're entitled to? Like housing benefit and council tax rebates? Glad you had a nice weekend.

Apparently I'm entitled to housing but landlord doesn't want a tenant on benefits of any kind thing is with the way things are (recession) I'd be surprised anyone not working a high professional job could afford 900 a month. Council will not make me priority for a council place though would prefer one as a bit more stable then renting privately. Plus if I were to have any kids they will move me to a bigger slightly bigger place when child need their own room I should think.

Am going in this week to find out anywho what I can get whether LL likes it or not.

Thanks ladies for words & advice.

Why ever not? I would have thought tenants on benefits were more reliable as their rent is guarenteed to be paid. When I was claiming for a short period the rent went straight to the landlord and I never had to bother with anything. They got their money on time, every month.

I don't know why. Maybe he isn't completely legal as he once gave me the option of not paying Council Tax at it meant announcing the flat I was in was a flat and occupied so it could be he hasn't or doesn't want to "announce" (not the right word but can't think of it) something or may have to produce something that he doesn't want to. It's the only thing I can think of or maybe he doesn't think very much of people on benefits "lazy bums" maybe (but know *I* don't think that but the way he stated he wanted the new tenant to have a job and not be on DSS I got that impression from him) I really don't know but I know if I push the issue further he'll start questioning things and I don't think it's any of his business he should just be grateful he has such an awesome and well behaved tenant as me lol ;0)

I agree with Teresa - you can claim Housing Benefit to help with your rent costs if you're on a low income - you don't need to be a council tenant to claim that.

We talked loads. Good to see you too! Sorry if I was a shite host. And I'm sorry I couldn't show you the estate grounds, I would have gone round by the Victorian Conservatory if it was a little lighter. If we'd gone round like that, I would have shit in my pants. Lots. xx
