In an effort to control sugar and be able to mix up my flavors, I've discovered that a canister of Quaker Quick-Oats, some raw walnuts, and a few bags of dried fruit work quite well. Also means that on those mornings where I'm hungrier, I can make more. 1-2 minutes in a microwave or a few minutes on the stovetop while I'm making coffee and puttering in the kitchen and it's *totally* worth it to have cranberry walnut oatmeal with a sprinkling of raw sugar. Or walnut with real maple syrup.

That is an excellent idea, and one I will aspire to. But at this point it's just impressive that I'm eating anything, and ripping open a packet and dumping it in a bowl with water is about as complicated as I manage. :)

There is also the fact that I do this at work, so having something really easy and compact is a good thing.

The fiber does forestall hunger, but your body is working correctly if you're eating breakfast and hungry before lunch. The whole purpose of breakfast is to wake up your metabolism, so being hungry means it's working.

Yes, but it's annoying when it's (checks time) 10:08 and your tummy is rumbling and it's two hours until lunch.

Time to go find a snack!

I love dried fruit for when I get hunger pangs too early. It's easy to keep in my desk, too.
