Craig Sailor, photo editor of the news tribune, called me today. He said he was sad to report the bad news that his paper would not be offering a fall internship to me. He said unfortunately we will not be having an intern. The good news, however, is that he still seems interested in me as a photographer, thus not closing the door to an internship ( Read more... )

you are so overqualified for any internship anyway. why don't you just get a JOB?

i'm not sure i could get one yet. i don't have a photo story, which from what i've gathered from my editors, is a major photojournalist sin. ahh.

i better get to working on one, trouble is, i think they are really lame.

I'm sure you could get a job at a smaller paper. It might not win an pulitzers, but at least you'd make more money than interning, get benefits and have a venue to generate your photo story.

My job is dope. Yesterday we drank tall can of Busch in the back instead of helping customers. my kind of place. Of course, it's probably not helping to build my portfolio or forward my carreer, but screw it.
