I'm here because Princessofg said that this had to be read. She was right. Beautifully done. And it is truly the only explanation for Jack's acceptance of a job he hated--he did it for the people he loved.

Certainly not original to me-- I'm sure I was somewhat influenced by Sg_Fignewton's comments in the same thread. All the same- Jack certainly didn't do it for love of the work. And by the third star, he's got to have kind of come to terms with it. Still. He's Jack, so there will be grumbling.
