Kicks on Rt 66

On Saturday I went Mike and the other usual suspects to see Cars, the latest Pixar creation. It was fun, and I am eagerly anticipating seeing it again with the fam, but I have a few gripes to air. I was bothered by the lack of people too. I think its very much a "grownup" nitpick about a children's movie, but I think what bothered me most was who the heck is making these cars? And how did civilization develop given the limited range of motion/functions of cars?

Also the country music. The constant country music bothered me. And I thought it lagged a lot in the middle, though the end was great.

I totally agree with your comment about being bothered by the lack of humans. I saw a preview and that human-less element bothered me for many reasons, though the relationship of humans to the characters that you described is a good point!

All of these critiques and no mention of its ripping off of Doc Hollywood?

I had heard of such plagarism, but was not familiar with Doc Hollywood's plot. After looking it up on IMDB, though, I completely agree. The least they could have done is throw in some tributes to Michael J Fox or something.
