If you don't like when people Vent, don't read this.

Okay, it bears repeating. I'm about to vent. I had a terrible day. This doesn't reflect anything in particular other than my need to divest myself of a metric ton of negative vibe. If you don't like that kind of thing, that's cool don't read on. If for some reason you do, then don't be offended if I'm vulgar or sound overly violent ( Read more... )

and i thought i was the only one who had a bad day today. i had the sales rep who HAD to talk to "someone who's experienced in this - IMMEDIATELY" without even giving me a chance to try to troubleshoot her problem. and the merchant whose terminal was working fine except for one minor detail and when i tried to do a partial download (very minor procedure, takes about 2 minutes and doesn't screw anything up) to fix it, the terminal got completely screwed up, and needed a full download (takes 30 minues, deletes all the transactions from the terminal so they have to be rekeyed, etc). and the people who supposedly "replaced" me in my old job who a) can't do anything at 1/3 of the speed that i can, and b) screw everything up. they expect me to fix everything and catch up all the work, but then they also expect me to be on phone calls 8 hours a day! WTF?! i feel a little better now. bet you didn't think your journal entry would have that effect, did you? thanks, doug! :)

LOL! Well, honestly no I didn't expect this journal to be very constructive at all. But the fact that it actually made someone besides me feel better...makes ME feel better. That worked out well. =)

This is why I don't ever want to be a manager, and probably don't want to run my own business! I couldn't handle it, but I'm proud of you because I know it's sooo dificult, and you are doing an excellent job so far. Doug, welcome to the difficult world of managing. You'll get the hang of it where it won't bother you as much anymore. Until then, hang in there and do whatever you need to keep your sanity. Well not WHATEVER, but you know what I mean...
