Candy Store

Everybody has one. That store you find that transforms you into a child again. I'll take everything! and love it and squeeze it and... and... you know? I just want to live here!
I have a few, I'm sure, but no shop in recent memory makes me as happy as this one. Perhaps it's a good thing that I live relatively far away from Alameda ( Read more... )

Berkeley Bowl, Rainbow Grocery, or Powells Book in Portland. All make me swoon. Mostly Powells.

Yeah, so in my town there are very few post offices...so Kona Candy Company...a home made- candy store has a post office outlet INSIDE the candy company.

It's SO WRONG, you have to walk through the candy company to get to the post office...and well...they always have really nice sales people and a plethora of delicious samples....

Yes....

Anyway, yeah, so now I keep looking for reasons to go to the post office...

OMG! Stamps and sweets (violet crumble?) all in one place? I'm so sorry! And so jealous!

Is it wrong that my mind instantly went to shoes?
But in reality, it's:
Filine's Basement in Downtown Boston
My best friends from college always think I'm flying across to country to see them...
From childhood?
Green Apple Books in SF, or Pegasus in Berkeley, although neither are what they used to be,

Yes, there's a many-leveled bookstore in Denver called Tattered Cover. It was a primary destination when I went to visit my grandparents in the summer, but I haven't seen it since they've changed locations. I can't imagine it being better than it was.

Um - Home Depot, Frys, Beverages and more.

Seriously - I cannot be allowed in these places unattended. Hmm.. this looks like a tasty bottle of rum, doesn't matter that I've got three others that I haven't opened yet... ...and we really do need some outdoor solar path lighting, and a new wireless-N router with USB storage.. ..and of course the new USB-connectible raid system with 1.8T of usable space...

Easy:
step 1: sip rum.
step 2: set up lights, allow to charge
step 3: sip more rum
step 4: set up new router and storage solution, exalt in how awesome it is
step 5: sip more run
step 6: merge your music selection with SWMBO's (props for knowing the acronym)
step 7: discover you overwrote her carefully cleaned/labeled music with your unruly tangle of unlabeled songs
step 8: sip more rum and try to undo step 7 =b

I hope you meant "try to undo step 6"...
Because while ignorance can be bliss (particularly when it's rum-induced), simply undoing your discovery of the problem won't get you off the hook of SWMBO ;p

(Hmm... 'The Hook of SWMBO'... How delightfully sinister)

*Cheese Shops! or Gourmet Foods Shops, such as AG Ferrari
*Farmers markets or any good market with bounteous, interesting produce
*The Viking Store (or it would be if I had gobs of wealth)
*I'm also guilty of a fondness for the Container Store

Oh yes! I make it a point of never going into the Container Store for fear of never coming out again ;)
Where on Earth is the Viking Store? Is this a supplier of pillaging tools?

It's in the Corte Madera Town Center. And if by 'pillaging' you mean 'cooking things using snooty high-end wares' then yes, that's exactly what it is ;-)
