Yikes. Sounds like quite a nightmare to me. The loss of the soul of a pplace, to be boxed in by the norm. Good thing you woke up.

How truly horrible and frightening. I am so sorry you had such an awful dream. I had something way less intense happen when I was a kid where they took the meadow I used to play in and one day just started building on it. I remember crying about how there were no more flowers....and I can still remember exactly how the flowers were to this day....

Good thing your home is intact for now. If it is anything like the picture, it's a beautiful place.

Oh I have places like that! Mostly vacant and grassy lots, but yeah. It's so weird when things get built onto flat spaces.
The picture is from I hike I took at Helen Putnam Park in Petaluma. My house is on a place less hilly, but looks about the same. I can see these hills in the distance when I climb the tree outside.
