Yup, this is why DVDs (and soon, Blu-Rays!) are soooo cool.

You know though? With this one, even with a project in my lap and getting things done, I think would still be bitter about the time I lost.

Your review is perfect lady. I went and saw this the other night and left feeling very disappointed. I meant to post a warning, but I was worried that it was just my dislike of the new style of film. Glad it is not just me.

Not at all. Thanks for seconding (or maybe I seconded you). Loved the Kermode review on BBC. He and several people writing in said it was completely "pants", which is an English expression I'm growing quite fond of ;)

Devil's advocate... or mine, anyway mustela_nivalis July 13 2008, 01:36:33 UTC
Just for the record, I thought it was a fun movie. Totally unbelievable, but with fun explosions and silly lines. I thought the worst part was the car flip into the bus (it's in the trailer, so not a spoiler). The voiceover made it more like a comic book, as did the excellently over-cheesy cinematography.

So really, if you wouldn't read the comic, don't see the movie -- just as you wouldn't go see a movie based on a book you wouldn't read.

:P so there
