Oh wow, I haven't updated this in quite a while. So, apologies to anyone that enjoyed my 2 page rant on Doctor Who, but here's the new intro
( Read more... )
I friended you because I read your Hi Random People Post and then I had to check and make sure that I didn't write your Hi Random People post. Lol. It's like you stole all the thoughts out of my brain! o.O!
P.S. It makes me so happy to read a post that recognizes Moffat's rampant mysogony and asshole douchebaggery and doesn't compare Moffat to God. It's ridiculous how far up his ass people on Tumblr are. I think I need to just stay away from there actually...it makes me feel violent and depressed. Not a good combo. :) P.P.S. The only person in my family who kept watching after S4...is my 16 year old, hormonal, teenage sister - she thinks the new Doctor is a "total hottie". Mum & Dad just roll their eyes and change the channel. Grandmum wants to know why BBC replaced Doctor Who with the "odd comedies with all the Gingers" - course in her defense she doesn't speak English all that well. :D
Friended you because you're an all Doctors/Rose lover who doesn't worship the ground Moffat walks on, and you make the awesomest Doctor/Rose manips ever♥!
Yay, thanks! Just don't give me any plot kittens unless it's for the Tencestfest, please!
Urgh, my mind works fast but it and my brain sometimes don't manage very well, so I sometimes have very sharp opinions on things. If people rebut the point I can come 'round--I actually get driven nuts sometimes when people have totally rigid opinions on things. On the scale of stuff I wish she hadn't said to me, it's pretty far down, but I thought I'd mention as a disclaimer or whatever.
Point 4 is the "I'm not a feminist, but..." (However, TBH, if someone says that anytime soon as a way of saying Akin is a "insert insult here"....)
Point #4 is a combination of two things- 1. Anyone that doesn't identify as a feminist (i.e. agreeing that all genders deserve equality) I side-eye like hell. 2., it's one of those things where it's usually followed by a statement of something that shows that the person *does* agree with feminist ideals, so they come off as comepletely clueless for eschewing the feminist label- a la this image or this image, or this blog post.
It's like when someone says "I'm not a racist, but..." or "I'm not homophobic, but..."- it's pretty much a guarantee that they're about to say something stupid and/or offensive.

I was called intolerant by my mom about 15 years ago, so I'm hoping I've reformed by now.
And, I find point 4 confusing.

Sorry that your mom called you that- I hope it was undeserved?
Which point is point 4?
