1814. Like in the song. Although towards the end the song suggests they used an alligator as a cannon, so maybe I should cite more reliable sources.

The Battle of New Orleans took place on January 8, 1815 and was the final major battle of the War of 1812
The lyrics are accurate, though, because they say "In 1814, we took a little trip / Down with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip." The troops moved into position in New Orleans in December of 1814.
The whole battle was kind of superfluous considering that the Treaty of Ghent had already been signed, but nobody in Louisiana knew it at the time.
