Review: Watchmen the Movie

If you want a 100% perfect review of this movie, read Kurt Loder’s Watchmen Review, my favorite movie reviewer and a far wiser and more articulate writer than I. (no spoilers, either! :D)

As for myself, the short impression is-WHAT AN INCREDIBLE ADAPTATION!! Even the most die-hard fan of the graphic novel would have very little to complain about ( Read more... )

I kind of wanted to have Rorschach's babies after seeing that movie, despite the fact that they would be the most mentally unbalanced children ever in the history of the world, and also that Rorschach wold prolly sooner throw a girl down an elevator shaft (haha) than sleep with her. Really. Ohmigoodness.

Also, the use of 'Hallelujah' almost killed me. I was on the verge of falling out of my chair I was trying so hard not to burst out laughing. Srsly.

And 'Ror-chan' is possibly one of the most horrifying things I've ever heard. O_o

I also thought what's-his-face did an EXCELLENT job playing both Dan and NiteOwl II. He managed to sell both personas to the audience, and I believed every bit of it. Of course, Dan/NiteOwl are not nearly as engaging as Rorschach, but they're not really meant to be.

If you haven't yet read Cleolinda's review of the movie, you should. She's here on ElJay.

Beth-chan!! Ohisashiburi~~ :D Yes, I am 100% with you--love, love, LOVED Rorschach to death, but yes, he definitely seems to be a "no toucies" sort of guy--lol! (and yes, that bit about him dropping the S&M guy down an elevator shaft was HILARIOUS--ooh, I'm bad ^^; ). But Rori-chan really does have his sentimental moments, and at least in the comic, he really does his best to "play nice with the other kids" after Laurie and Dan spring him from jail. Guess he was touched. :) Kawaii ( ... )

Oh, Cleolinda's review is pretty short, but she's great for 'linkspam' about all sorts of things movie related, and she's got some pretty hilarious stuff besides. She's responsible for the Movies in 15 Minutes at the m15m community on LJ, and now she's doing this 'Secret Life of Dolls' thing which is like a soap opera with her collectible dolls as the characters. It's fantastic. Anyway, the Watchmen entry is here.

Also, I am at once completely horrified by the concept of that fanfic, but just intrigued enough to try it. Damn my inquisitive and slashy nature.
