For a stone in a tin can...

I stole this from Ray, I need to feel better about... Well, not that I was depressed... It's just a happy quiz... I'll cut so that those who would rather read my usual rantings can do so...

Name 10 things (in no particular order) that make you happy and tag five others:

01. A nicely rolled joint
02. A Celtics Game
03. A fancy beer from Nielson
04. The Simpsons
05. BJ's impersonations of Ryan Heisler and Jake Duhaime
06. My current musical obsession: The Game- The Documentary
07. I'll agree with Ray: Arrested Development
08. MTV2'S Hip-Hop Throwback show...
09. Bill Simmons columns
10. The Yankees losing, even if only to make me feel better about the sox losing...

I'm not going to tag five other people, rather, I invite anyone and everyone to comment below with their own list...
- Tonight's White Sox-Angels game gave birth to one of the most disputed playoff victories in sports history. If this had happened in Boston, there would be a full scale riot going on right now... Just puzzling... I won't elaborate on exactly what happened, check the papes to see it for yourself... Weird shit... Disgraceful umpiring. That's enough discombobulated (did i spell that correctly? do i care?) chatter on that... Feel free to check here for a full story about it...
- I barely had classes this week, nothing Monday or Tuesday, and as usual nothing the previous Friday, so I've been laying low, fooling around with friends, good times had by all...
- One particular time I should elaborate on... Trevor and I went out after the Patriots' game (btw, when was the last time Belichick looked that excited after a win, but I digress...) to play some tackle football with some kids he knew from the lacrosse team, and their circle of friends... Who the hell were these kids? They were bigger, stronger, faster, and meaner then almost any Emerson kids I had ever seen before. There was a kid who had at least 50 pounds of Trevor and could run the 40 in 5.4... If those numbers don't make any sense to you: A VERY good pro prospect will run the 40 in 4.4. They just gave this kid the ball, and who was going to tackle him? Not me... There were some head-to-head hits, Trevor's glasses were bent. I actually at first worried about Trevor's glasses before I worried about him... What? I'm just being a concerned Jewish mother...
- I just looked at my last entry... HA! "[The Red Sox] maybe get passed the AL." They were swept and deservedly so... The pitching is a mess, and the offense, as good as it was, was tired of carrying the pitching... Matt Clement, was as I half-predicted COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE... 8 earned runs... Let's say I played the role of the optimist... If the sox made it a five-game series... Did YOU want to see Clement back out there for the series-clinching game? I didn't think so... It will be fun/sad/realistic to see Clement get buried at the backend of the hopefully youthful Sox starting pitching rotation of the future... The White Sox played with urgency, the Red Sox, just as they hadn't since Mid to Late August hadn't...
- I don't think it's too early to start to predict or dream of my dream Sox lineup for 2006 (This was developed with help from Dave Bartlett)
C Jason Varitek
1B Lyle Overbay/Carlos Delgado/Paul Konerko
2B Dustin Pedroia
SS Edgar Renteria
3B Kevin Youkilis
RF Trot Nixon
CF Ok, I have no idea...
LF Manny Ramirez
DH David Ortiz
(Geoff Blum for 1B/3B backup, and Cora is still signed for 2B/SS backup)
- I guess I should not call it a "dream lineup," I mean Nixon and Renteria are still there... But Millar is gone! You know how Ortiz has that insipid nickname "Big Papi"? I have always affectionately referred to Millar as "Shithead." Too harsh? OK, but the store should've made "Media Whore" shirts at least... Well, next year might be a slight downyear for the Sox anyway... Try to clear some money to rebuild a muddled pitching staff, and Damon's bat is going to be virually impossible to replace without a massive trade like the long-rumored and discussed Manny-for-Beltran trade. I am against this trade... I am against any Manny trade, the sox should just swallow his salary, his bat is too hard to replace, and the sox just don't have the pitching right now to punt his offense and stay competitive...
- I only watched glimpses of the Celtics' first preseason game... Pierce looked solid, Kendrick Perkins was in great shape... Dan Dickau played brilliantly, showing his mastery of the inside pass, something that I think he does better then all the other PG's on the team... If Delonte starts, he'll be a defacto starter, a la Tony Allen... Dickau and Ricky Davis look to spell them quickly... "Big Al" Jefferson didn't play, and won't for a few weeks, but if Perkins keeps his solid play and conditioning up, that's a nasty 4-5 punch inside...
- I purchased Arrested Development: Season 2 on DVD recently, highly reccomended viewing... I also purchased a Wallace and Gromit DVD containing all their shorts, which I reccomend highly... I have yet to see the new film, but I'm sure I will enjoy it...
- As the season has come to a close, I will be returning to the warehouse tomorrow morning, where hilarity is sure to ensue as it always does...
- A thought just popped into my head... "Big Al" Jefferson... David "Big Papi" Ortiz... What gives with the shitty nicknames? Players used to have cooler nicknames like Mo "Hit Dog" Vaughn, Frank "The Big Hurt" Thomas, Carlton "Pudge" Fisk, Dwight "Dewey" Evans, Roger "The Rocket" Clemens, Paul "The Truth" Pierce, Larry "Grandmama" Johnson (My personal favorite) or John "Way Back" Wasdin... OK, that last one was more vindictive then anything else... I just think Boston fans have gotten too distracted with winning and the nicknames have truly suffered... Kevin "Shithead" Millar... I like it, tell all your friends...
- In case you haven't noticed, my personal life hasnt given me much to talk about... I got drunk with A-Mac, Trevor, Emily, and a cast of her friends on Sunday night, a good time was had by all... A game of "Apples and Apples" was enjoyed by all... Gets my stamp of approval...
- I have been writing this on and off all through Nick Drake's "Bryter Layter" and The Blood Brother "Burn Piano Island, Burn." I feel like all I listen to rock-wise is music Bryan Young gave me two years ago... Give me some new music Bryan!
- Oh yeah, I saw Sage Francis last week with Fallon, Nick, and Chris... It was a great show... He was much funnier and dynamic then I imagined, or remembered from when I last saw him. He threw rancid broccoli out into the crowd, which you had to be there, but I assure you it was hilarious... He did a Jay-Z diss song at the end, "I Got 99 Rappers, But Jay-Z Ain't One," which left me kind of sad... It's Jay-Z... Why?
- Ok, "Ambulance vs. Ambulance" by the Blood Brothers is 90% screaming and distortion, but its sooo catchy, like an Ashlee Simpson song... how is that possible?
- What Ashlee Simpson has grown as an artist? What's that you say, I have "poor taste"? Well, what have you done with your life? At least she has the gall to get up there and make a complete fool of herself and her family...

That's all for now... I'm always so gassed after these things...
