I have to say that when the conflict in Lebanon got started I tried to pay as little attention as possible. Something in me knew that it was heading in a really ugly direction and that was one wreck I didn't want to rubberneck for. Now, almost three weeks later I have no choice unless I really bury my head in the sand. At the risk of sounding ( Read more... )

well american and britain look at it as a way to get israel to do their dirty work and take some of the military might out of the middle east...they don't give a fuck about civilians...funny thing is the killing of civilians to demoralize the enemy worked in world war 2, hasn't been very sucessful since then...especially when you are killing people who have very little to lose in the first place...i know there's more to it than that, but i find the israeli actions inexcusable...they condemn "terrorists" for targeting civilians yet they've killed far more civilians in a short time...i mean really explain to me how israel has the fourth most powerful military in the world in a country that has very little comparative wealth and industry...that's because you as american taxpayers pay for those weapons with huge subsidies...

our horse isn't so high anymore...with our new right wing brown nosing prime minister we are supporting the israeli atrocities as well...i personally can't believe it since we are known for our peacekeeping efforts and neutral stance on such issues...we are usually trying to resolve the situation instead of choosing sides...not to mention a canadian u.n. peacekeeper was killed as well as a canadian family visiting lebanon...

Yeah, Lebanon is pretty fucked. They just finished several decades of civil war and were already destroyed by Israel in the '80s...Now this? Israel seems to think that it can bomb and terrorize Lebanon into compliance, yet their last attempt at that was what spawned Hezbollah. Not to mention it's a war crime.
