So what does an atheist who was brought up by atheists, who were brought up by atheists, do on Christmas Eve as her 2 year-old daughter sleeps? She contemplates perpetuating the Santa myth

Christmas trees are actually a pagan symbol and therefore not at all about Jesus and the manger and all that jazz.
