Well, people tell themselves lies all the time so that they can ignore the truth - nothing new about that... But I find it irritating when it's similar to the aforementioned situation.

It is easier to be ignorant than knowledgable easier to be lazy than dutiful. The kid (early teens) said he would have taken his fathers place to continue on.

surprise, surprise.... people tend to feel passionate about such things when emotional turmoil is present. I shake my head and wonder where this world is going - when will this finally end?

Its funny living in Seattle. I went to the local grocery store with my girlfriend today and it was the white middle class tourist family that stood out.
