Yes, no.
2. Would you do meth if it was legal?
No. I've had enough legal drugs in my system that I just wanna be me.
3. Abortion: for or against it?
Currently the national social consciousness (or NSC) is for abortions in some cases but not as an 'across-the-board' free-for-all. Although in my life I would prefer not to encounter it ultimately it shouldn't be my choice. There are other, related ramifications of a pregnancy that should be my choice (and not a woman's) but that is another debate. In any case while I don't much like them I'm very definitely against removing them as an option for someone else. This is one of those situations where I find it unreasonable to impose my will on others. As long as the NSC is OK with it I'm OK with it.
4. Do you think the world would fail with a female president??
It didn't when England and Germany and Pakistan (PAKISTAN!) had female leaders. Why would it fail if we did?
5. Do you believe in the death penalty?
I believe that in a perfect world where you have the potential to be 100% certain of guilt in certain very narrowly defined criminal acts that the death penalty would be acceptable as a punishment (because let's face it - it isn't a deterent). But since we don't live in a perfect world . . .
6. Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
Makes no difference to me one way or the other. Just don't smoke it near me.
7. Are you for or against premarital sex?
Can't really say I'm against it if I participated in it. And since I've never been married and I'm not a virgin . . .
But I do believe in a combination sex educational approach where we encourage abstinence but prepare them for the possibility of sex.
8. Do you believe in God?
I believe in the divine. Mayhap not the same divine as others but I hardly require others to believe as I do. And I do not discourage or discount other beliefs (including Atheism).
9. Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
If adult human beings aren't allowed to marry any other adult human beings in a consentual manner then none should be able to.
10. Do you think it's wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA
As long as the NSC (referenced above) believes that we should make immigration under certain circumstances illegal then I believe it's criminal. I don't believe it's wrong. I wouldn't want to live in Mexico either. If you want to remedy a sizable chunk (don't have an estimate on this one) of the illegal immigration situation then remove automatic citizenship for all people born in the USA. Make citizenship contingent on parental citizenship. If one or both of your parents are US citizens then you are, too, no matter where you're born. If neither are then you aren't either. It's simple and removes one of the more powerful motivations for illegal immigration.
11. A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?
That's going to be a tough choice for her and her parents (since let's face it the parents are going to be primarily responsible for the baby early on).
12. Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?
It should be 18 for anyone who can be drafted.
13. Should the war in Iraq be called off?
A timeline for transition should be installed and adhered to. No excuses and no posturing.
14. Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?
Shouldn't be. If someone wants to end their life with dignity and a reasonable process of documentation is adhered to then a person should be able to do precisely that. The Hypocratic Oath should be considered violated when doctors artificially extend the life of someone in pain or where the wuality of life is non-existent.
15. Do you believe in spanking your children?
Yes, I do. There's a not very fine line between spanking and battery. Spanking is good. Battery is illegal and rightfully so.
16. Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars??
Yes. Give me one that someone dropped on the ground. Appropriate rules for disposal of a significantly damaged or 'desecrated' flag includes burning. Gotcha.
17. Who do you think would make a better president: McCain or Obama?
I'm not certain as yet. I'm inclined to lean towards Obama but McCain has some features I approve of. In the end for me it may be a coin toss.
18. Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?
Afraid? Not particularly. These are my opinions only and I don't force them on others. Everyone has an opinion and they all (including mine) stink.
