Happiness appears to be forever elusive when its attainment is the primary objective. However, when other goals are pursued, happiness is often a by-product. To pursue happiness as a primary goal appears to be a self-defeating venture. We are more likely to find happiness when we forget about it and pursue other things.

let's forget about happiness and pursue other things, alice!!! =)
