It had been years since the Vatican had dragged off his old man and ruthlessly murdered him. Lavi had fled the scene at Bookman's orders, which had only left a hole in his heart that grew larger and larger over the years, filling with anger and hatred towards the Vatican.
China, 12 years after leaving the Order. Black cloaked men infiltrated the small Chinese city that night, hiding amidst the shadows. Lavi, now a Bookman named Yi, was sitting quietly on the floor of the temple courtyard, listening to the wind rustle through the trees as he read some of the old manuscripts he'd borrowed from the temple monks. It was a hidden history, a sect of monks whose underground activities were exhilirating. Suddenly, the redhead grabbed the staff, then suddenly rising to his feet, he swung the staff with simple words, "Heaven Seal: Winding Summer Winds!" His seals had only improved after the Order, sending wind throughout the surrounding trees, revealing 20 Crow.
"20? What is this? Come to kill me too?" They hadn't sent nearly that many when they had dragged off his old man. Lavi knew something horrible was about to happen.
And it did. Lavi was incredibly overwhelmed, despite fighting defensively with his most powerful elements. Wind, lightning and earth swirled around, pushing them back, but there were simply too many Crow, many who were incredibly powerful. He found himself at a severe disadvantage as the Crow grabbed at him, one by one, placing seals along his arms, effectively sealing his elements away. He was powerless, magically, and while he fought with all his strength, it was simply not enough, and he soon found himself being dragged away in the night, bound by chains and seals.
Not much time had passed before Lavi settled down and stopped fighting. It was not as much that he'd accepted his fate, but that he knew something they didn't. In the book Allen had given him, which he memorized, he learned that everyone from this war would be reborn again. There was even a letter to Allen's reborn self. He knew he'd see everyone again, but with the way this was going, perhaps he wouldn't see them at all. His heart told him to hope for the best, to hope to see the only people he'd ever truly called friends.
Lavi was dragged into a dark room and severely beaten, accused of some fabricated crimes, but in truth, he knew it was part of their campaign to cover up the past. It was the same reason why Bookman was killed. Lavi was quite certain of this and he knew something was coming. What that was, however, he wasn't sure, until his rather broken body was dragged out to a wall where he was quite surprised to see a familiar face. Tyki. The Noah had somehow survived this long. They must've been the last two alive.
Lavi took to his knees, his hands bound behind his back, blood streaming down his face. He stared at the crowd with a flat, displeased expression, observing who had been gathered there. Leverrier was, of course, front and center, with his minion Crow at either side. Link was there too, with a rather unusual expression drawn across his stiff features. There was emotion there. What, exactly, Lavi couldn't tell, nor did he care. He wasn't stopping this. Komui, on the other hand, seemed to be. Several Crow held him back and off to the side. He wasn't saying anything but was incredibly distraught and exhausted, possibly from fighting to stop this.
A firing squad walked before Lavi and Tyki. So that was his fate. What a horrible way to die.
"Go ahead, boys." Lavi barely heard the words as Tyki spoke, his words weak but with a bite. Then it came. One. Two. Three. Four. Shots fired straight from Cross's old Innocence, Judgment, straight into Tyki's heart. Lavi watched, almost as if the world had slowed down for just a moment, as Tyki fell to the ground, blood trailing behind him, his cigarette falling from his lips.
Lavi was next. He glared straight to Leverrier, the words barely able to escape his lips. "Never forget," he sneered as the bullets fired cleanly through his heart. The pain was intense. He could feel the life leaving him quickly, but not quickly enough. He fell to the ground, "Never forget," he told himself as he saw the pools of blood form around him. He stared at Tyki's now lifeless body as the world began to leave him, fading to black.
