So, I just got a THIRD email forward from a family member encouraging me to boycott "The Golden Compass" because the author of the book on which the movie is based is evidently an aggressive atheist.

My students didn't do as well as I'd hoped on their big test - the highest score (which becomes the "A") was 124 out of 137.  Not too bad, but still... not many others were even close.  I covered EVERYTHING in class!  I gave them study guides!  I told them specific things that would be on the test that they STILL missed!  I don't know how many ( Read more... )

Is anyone out there interested in doing me a huge favor and beta-ing this "Greek and Roman Theatre" test I just wrote?  I was going to make have my supervisor take a look at it, but she's mysteriously "taking the day off".  I'm nervous for the kids' sakes and would LOVE some feedback...

 I HATE writing tests.   Grrr.  I'm having a horrible time calculating what will be too difficult for the class (spread: 9th - 12th grades), and I'm running out of "fill in the blanks" that are leading, but not TOO leading.  They all tanked on midterm grades, and I was then merciful - so I don't want to be particularly merciful on this major test, ( Read more... )
