My building has had at least 5 fire alarms go off so far this year, and I've been in the building for every single one. Granted, I haven't been in the shower for any of them, but it still sucks when you get woken up from a very nice sleeps at 7:45 in the morning. And you can smell smoke in the hall because someone's freaking mirror refreacted the morning sun and set a paper on their desk on fire. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
On the bright side, at least you know the alarm works in case of an actual emergency.
oh wow, it was all done by refraction? that's impressive. this was just some boys cooking and burning bacon. and you know daniel priever from GATE? well, he's apparently at cornell too, and his dorm is just the pyro's dorm. some kid left his pants sitting on a lamp for it must have been a long time, and it actually caught fire. nobody thought anything of it when they smelled smoke initially since they thought someone was just lighting up, but then the alarms went off and so did the sprinklers in one part of the building. that kid didn't make too many friends... they've had some other actual fires too, but that's the most recent.
