[Erza had just woke up recently, and after convincing the people working at the clinic that she was well enough, she went back to her apartment.  Sitting on her bed, she vaguely remembers the sorts of things she had dreamed about while she was unconscious.  They weren't good dreams by any stretch of the imagination - mostly whipping and screaming ( Read more... )

Mama is wonderful. She's a doctor, and I want to be one, too.

That's a good goal to have in mind. It would take a lot of work, though.

I know. I don't mind it, though. It's our dream together, mine and mama's. That's worth hard work, I think.

My father was a warrior, one of pure heart who vanquished the demon Aku the first time he cursed my homeland. My mother...[There was a short pause, the muffled sound of someone clearing their throat audible.] My mother was a kind and courageous woman. I miss them both dearly.

Aku... That name sounds familiar... Is he some kind of shadowy demon with giant flaming eyebrows, who yells a lot and speaks in the third-person? There was a creature like that who was calling himself Aku a few months ago, though he's gone now.

Ahh, yes! That is the very same Aku I speak of! Did he have a habit of turning into small insects or tiny creatures and scurrying away from fights?

I don't know. I only fought him once, and it was like trying to stab a waterfall. My attacks didn't effect him, and I had to run rather than risk getting hurt over a trivial matter. [She grimaces at that. She's not the type to run away, and even the memory of it irritates her.]

Well, my mom is a hard-worker, considering she has her hands full with me and my twip little brother and is still trying to get through night classes at school. Dad...my dad...[The voice trailed off, a quiet choking sob sound barely audible on the other side.]

[Wait...she had that one test, I had to keep watch of Matt, he got kidnapped...uhhh...] Business, I think, since she's trying to go for a promotion at work...or something like that.

I see... Well, people can be quite enthusiastic about promotions. Hopefully she gets the job that she wants.

How about your brother? Aside from being... what was that word you used to describe him... a "twip"?
